Register2Vote

At United Ways of Tennessee (UWTN), we fundamentally believe all citizens have a precious right to vote, and our civic engagement is essential and critical to our community’s future.  We are committed to fighting for the education, health, and financial stability of our communities. So, we are proud to partner with the TN Secretary of State’s Office to help more people register and vote. Everyone wins when Tennesseans embrace civic responsibility, especially by voting.

In Tennessee it has never been easier to register to vote or to cast to a vote, and UWTN is fully committed to giving you the tools to both register to vote as well as cast your vote. We believe in being proactive in providing information from our state and local officials to support our organization’s commitment to civic involvement.

While we may not all agree politically, we can hopefully all agree that our state and our nation are stronger when all of us register to vote and exercise our right to vote on Election Day.

We understand that there are many reasons why you may not have voted in the past, but by voting, you can have an impact on your life, your community and future generations. One thing is for certain, when you do not vote, you place the keys to our form of government in the hands of the voters that do exercise their right to vote.

If you don’t vote, you are letting other people decide who gets to represent you. Local, state and national elected officials make decisions that affect our lives every day, including roads, schools, healthcare, parks and more.

While your vote may not be the deciding vote in an election, your vote still makes a difference especially in state and local elections. In Tennessee, there are races that were decided by only a handful of votes.

The first step in becoming a voter is to register to vote.  You can register to vote, update your address or check your registration status with the Secretary of State’s fast, easy and secure online voter registration system, GoVoteTN.gov.

Using a computer, phone or tablet, any U.S. citizen with a driver’s license or a photo ID issued by the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security can register in minutes at GoVoteTN.gov. A paper voter registration application is also available to download at GoVoteTN.gov.

For more information about how to register to vote, go to GoVoteTN.gov or call the Division of Elections at 1-877-850-4959Your vote is your voice and your vote matters. That’s why if you are not registered to vote in Tennessee, we encourage you to take a few minutes and register today.

Please join us in our efforts to help our fellow citizens register and vote to make our communities stronger and to effect positive change in our government.  You can do that by simply sharing this social media campaign across your social media channels.

Voter Registration Month

Our state and nation are stronger when we all register to vote and make our voices heard at the polls. By casting a ballot, we can have a real impact on our lives, communities and future generations. Fortunately, in Tennessee, it has never been easier to register to vote or cast a ballot.

That is why United Ways of Tennessee are proud to work with the Tennessee Secretary of State’s office to celebrate National Voter Registration Month in September and National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday, Sept. 28.   National Voter Registration Month is a nonpartisan, nationwide effort encouraging all eligible voters to register and participate in the electoral process.

More than 3 million Tennesseans cast a ballot in the 2020 presidential election, blowing away previous voter turnout and participation records. Now we have the opportunity to build on this momentum. You can participate by registering to vote, ensuring your registration is up to date, encouraging others to register and by casting a ballot in upcoming state and local elections.

Local and statewide elected officials make decisions about schools, transportation, healthcare and many things that affect our daily lives.

In Tennessee, there have been state and local elections decided by only a handful of votes. In these races, your vote could be the deciding factor.  But if you don’t vote, you are giving up your voice and letting others decide who will represent you.

If you have never voted before, the first step to casting a ballot is to register. Registering to vote, updating your address or checking your registration status is fast, easy and secure with the Secretary of State’s online voter registration system, GoVoteTN.gov.

Using a computer, phone or tablet, any U.S. citizen with a driver’s license or a photo ID issued by the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security can register in minutes at GoVoteTN.gov. A paper voter registration application is also available to download at GoVoteTN.gov.

For more information about how to register to vote in Tennessee, go to GoVoteTN.gov or call the Tennessee Secretary of State’s Division of Elections at 1-877-850-4959. If you are not registered, National Voter Registration Month is the perfect time to join the movement and register to vote today.
